    Meet our instructors

Our courses have been created from PRS’s 50-years’ worth of combined experience in teaching martial arts and working in the security industry, designed to help our students increase their confidence, gain a wider awareness of their surroundings, promote greater personal coordination, and work to enhance their core strength and fitness.

I have been interested in and teaching self defence and martial arts for the past thirty years, culminating in learning and instructing Krav Maga. In that time I have seen again and again how it’s not martial arts people need, rather it is some simple physical techniques and a healthy dose of understanding as to what constitutes a dangerous situation, how to spot one developing, and what to do about it.

Having been fortunate enough to work with excellent law enforcement and military instructors, I have used that knowledge to inform my own teaching.

As well as a history in the security industry I have also been working in the education sector for over 15 years , leading a successful and high achieving department. This has also helped immensely to understand the pressures and demands that young people face today, which has helped to maximise the relevance of the courses that PRS delivers.

I started martial arts at a local Judo club when I was 14, and loved it. 10 years later I got my first instructor qualification and have been teaching martial arts and running self defence courses ever since, culminating in my current role as the President of the UK Sector of the European Federation of Krav Maga.

While running courses for students, teachers, nurses, community clubs, charities and corporate organisations over the years, it became apparent that everyone wished they had learned it earlier.

PRS is the response to this. In combination with Jamie’s school experience we have built a specific verbal and physical curriculum to address this in a child’s formative years and provide them with an effective framework to manage stressful situations.
